We’re hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join our client’s growing team. This position is a 1 year contract opportunity position that offers the potential for a permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops detailed project plans to monitor and track project progress
  • Leads and coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management
  • Supports and coordinates project planning, prepares resource requests, staffing, and subcontractor management, troubleshooting and resource management
  • Communicates and tracks regularly on the status of project goals and project results regarding quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
  • Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments and resource additions
  • Organizes meetings and meeting agendas including running of internal or client status meetings, as needed
  • Takes action items and key status updates at meetings, distributes and follows up on action items across client and internal stakeholders including maintenance of RAID log
  • Collects information to support development of any Change Requests
  • Assists Project Manager in providing direction and support to project team to ensure accomplishment of agreed upon goals, objectives, and deadlines
  • Supports the development and maintenance of a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress including updates to project plans including complete and date changes
  • Reports on progress of project to all stakeholders by creating, maintaining and presenting status reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Updates and maintains project financials including forecasts, resource plans, purchase requests, work orders, time, and invoice reconciliation
  • Supports Project Manager in managing relationships with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/ vendors
  • Independently carries out responsibilities associated with project tasks or established internal business processes on multiple projects simultaneously including facilitating discussions with internal teams on issue resolution
  • Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
  • Takes on and manages smaller projects as a Project Manager and takes end-to end project responsibilities including running customer project status meetings and being the prime contact for the client on the project

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Technology related field
  • Ability to lead project teams and gain consensus both internally and with clients
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, dynamic and agile approach to time management and prioritization of tasks with ability to quickly address important issues
  • Good math and analytical skills including understanding financial performance tracking
  • Good negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills including taking ownership in issues and conflict resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in a business setting, with fluency in English. Bilingual in French is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Ability to give attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to travel, as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Technology, Business, Marketing, Accounting or related field is highly desirable
  • Ability to acquire or already having a Government of Canada Reliability security clearance would be considered an asset
